Environmental remediation marketing for firms that should be on more bid lists
You don't lose this work on response time. You lose it on eligibility and visibility. Compliance is the moat, and most of your competitors literally cannot bid against you, but the moat only pays if a buyer can find you and the procurement system has you listed for what you actually hold. A stale entry on one platform drops you out of automated bid searches quietly, and nobody calls to tell you why the invitations stopped.
Why do the invitations stop without anybody telling you?
Your credentials are not held in one place. They are scattered across state agency databases, procurement portals, prequalification systems and directories, most of which you did not create and none of which update together. Each one carries its own version of what you are licensed and accredited to do.
Buyers and general contractors filter those systems by certification. If a platform has not recorded an accreditation you have held for years, you are not in the result set, and there is no notification for that. The work simply goes to somebody who was listed correctly. Meanwhile the institutional and municipal jobs, the long-cycle work that pays, are won on relationships with hygienists, general contractors, facility managers and school districts, which is a different problem again.
Eligible but invisible
You hold the accreditation. The platform the buyer filtered on does not know that.
Prequalified elsewhere
Competitors sitting on bid lists you were never invited to, in categories you can legally work.
Found by name only
Search traffic that is all people who already know you, and nothing from buyers with a compliance problem.
Found by buyers who didn't know their name.
93%
of monthly visits from people searching the service, not the company
Advanced Health & Safety is an independent mold and asbestos inspection firm in Madison. When the work started they held one top-three ranking. They now hold 111, with roughly eleven times the organic traffic.
The number that matters for regulated work is the last one. A facility manager, a general contractor or a district procurement officer with an AHERA obligation usually has no idea who to call. They search the regulation or the problem, not the company. Being found by someone evaluating you against criteria rather than reputation is the whole game.
That is discovery, not a place on a bid list, and they are different things. They fail the same way though. A buyer who cannot find you and a platform that has your credentials recorded wrong both end with you not getting invited.
We are also building the software for it. HazardOS is our own field-management platform for asbestos, mold and lead abatement work: offline field surveys that hold up in a basement with no signal, estimates priced by hazard type and abatement method, and the job tracked through to the invoice. The priority build in it right now is credential and certification tracking, which is the same problem this page is about. We are solving it in code because nobody else has.

The Bid List Program is the Pathfinder Sprint run for an environmental firm. It starts with the Bid List Report: where you appear across procurement and licensing platforms, which credentials are visible against which you actually hold, where competitors are prequalified and you are not, and how you show up on searches for regulated work.
- Competitive analysisThe three to five firms bidding against you in your counties$1,500
- Bid-eligibility & listing auditDirectory presence, license and insurance verification, LSA and Google Guaranteed qualification$1,500
- Credential & certification visibility checkHow your accreditations appear where buyers filter$1,000
- Regulated-work search visibility auditThe terms buyers use when they have a compliance obligation and no incumbent$1,500
- 8-hour senior working session$3,500
- Your ready-to-run 90-day Bid List system$1,500
- Custom software & automation build map$2,000
More than $12,000 of senior strategy work, for $950, and the full $950 comes off your first month if you continue to a monthly plan.
If you look at your 90-day system and don’t see the edge, we refund every dollar, and you keep the system and every report anyway. The risk is 100% on us.
One firm per trade, per metro. Yours.
Written into the agreement, not implied. An asbestos abatement contractor and a mold inspection firm in the same city are different trades and can both work with us. Two asbestos abatement contractors cannot.
Environmental remediation marketing, answered
What does the Pathfinder Sprint cost, and does it credit toward anything?
$950, credited in full against your first month if you go on to a monthly plan. There is no obligation to continue.
Why would our listings be wrong if we never changed them?
Because you are listed in places you did not create. State agency databases, procurement portals, prequalification systems and directories all carry their own record of your licensure and accreditation, and they fall out of date at different speeds. A certification you have held for years can be missing from the one platform a school district filters on, and nothing tells you.
We hold AHERA and state licensure. Isn't that enough to get invited?
It is enough to be eligible, which is not the same as being found. Buyers and general contractors filter prequalification lists by certification, and if the platform does not have yours recorded you are not in the result set. Most firms discover this only when they think to check a portal they have not logged into in two years.
Does this help with institutional and municipal work, or only commercial?
Both, though they move at different speeds. Institutional and municipal work is long-cycle and relationship-led: hygienists, general contractors, facility managers and school districts. Search and listings get you eligible and visible; the relationships close it. The Sprint maps both sides.
What is in the Bid List Report?
A check of how you appear across procurement and licensing platforms, an audit of which credentials are visible against which are actually held, a map of where competitors are prequalified that you are not, and how you show up on searches for the regulated work you want. It is the diagnostic the Sprint day is built on.
Do you understand the regulatory side, or just marketing?
We build software for this industry. HazardOS is our own field-management platform for environmental remediation, covering scheduling, compliance and estimates offline. Learning a regulated workflow well enough to build for it is a different level of familiarity than writing about it.
What happens if a competitor in our metro signs first?
Then we cannot work with you, and we will say so on the first call rather than after you have paid. One firm per trade per metro, written into the agreement.
Find out which bid lists you should be on and aren’t.
That is the first thing we check, and you keep the report either way.
One firm per trade per metro. Three Sprints a month.
