Mark Hope is the Founder, President & Chief Strategy Officer of Asymmetric Marketing. His career spans elite military service, senior leadership at two of the largest companies in their categories, and founding several companies of his own. It's the common thread behind how Asymmetric helps smaller companies out-compete bigger ones.
Mark began his career in U.S. Army Special Operations, serving from 1977 to 1988 in the 1st and 3rd Battalions of the 75th Ranger Regiment and as an Operator in 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment–Delta (1st SFOD–Delta). What that world runs on (careful planning, reading your opponent, and winning from a position of disadvantage) is the foundation of how he helps smaller companies win today.
He went on to senior corporate leadership inside the big, category-leading brands that smaller companies have to beat. At The Coca-Cola Company he was a senior regional executive across Central Europe, running marketing and market research at large scale, including the disciplined A/B testing and research-led budgeting he still teaches clients. As Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Safety-Kleen Systems, a roughly $1 billion services company, he led the customer-loyalty and retention work that cut customer churn nearly in half, the real-world basis for how Asymmetric approaches loyalty.
Mark is also a founder and operator in his own right, the founder of Pegasus Sustainability Solutions (later Pegex) and Epoch Insights, with direct experience building and scaling companies rather than only advising them. That operator's perspective is why Asymmetric builds real products and systems for clients, not just strategy.
Today he leads the approach at the core of Asymmetric's work, a repeatable way to help smaller companies beat bigger ones, and has spent more than a decade running competitor stress-tests for companies facing serious challenges.
